Mohamed Hadid Sues Accuser Over Claims of Sexual Abuse

in Divorce by

Mohamed Hadid files lawsuit against accuser Miranda VeeWe have been reporting for awhile now about the prevalent sexual abuse that has been happening in the entertainment world. There are a lot of obvious instances out there of horrible sexual abuse (here’s looking at you Weinstein) but then there are cases that seem a bit murky. We are all for the abusers getting outing for the scum that they are, but we also want to report on the other side of the issue. There seem to be a few men that have been accused of sexual harassment without any real evidence to back up those claims. Or evidence is presented that contradicts the accuser’s claim. This latest case seems to be one the cases that is a bit murky.

Billionaire Mohamed Hadid was accused of date rape by a model who goes by Miranda Vee. The 23-year-old, Miranda ‘Vee’ Vasquez, made some claims on her social media about her interactions with Hadid in response to the #MeToo movement. She filed a police report with the Los Angeles police department and then scrubbed her social media of any mention of Hadid. The press had a field day with this information and everyone lumped him into the sexual accuser category.

But Hadid has now addressed the accusation by filing a lawsuit against his accuser and he has released documentation of their relationship. His lawsuits claims that he has evidence that Vasquez is lying about the rape and that she was actually trying to extort the sum of $8,000 out of him. his lawsuit also include a lot of sexually charged texts messages between the two of them that were sent both before and after the encounter. There were also numerous photos that Vasquez sent that showed her in lingerie and wearing a bikini. She texted Hadid that she missed him and his ummmm “member” (Vasquez used the eggplant emoji to convey this sentiment) and said that he was “sweet” and “nice”. His paperwork claims that he is he’s a victim of libel, slander, and defamation by Vasquez. His lawsuit says, “Vasquez is a pathological liar who acted with actual malice and her intentional wrongful defamatory actions constitute libel, slander and extortion.”

The lawsuit says that she wanted him to pay her money to not go public with their hook up and threatened to go to the authorities if he didn’t pay up. He did pay and she went public with her claims anyway. Vasquez has not publicly responded to the lawsuit and there is still no word from the LA police department about her claim.

ABC’s Most Hated Bachelor and his Second Fiancé Might Elope

in Scandals by

Arie and Lauren talking about eloping After the dumpster fire of an ending to the current boring season of the Bachelor, the second place winner and Arie are now talking about eloping sometime in the near future. For anyone that watched this season, this would be a great move in order to spare us the indignity of having to watch their wedding special. If you all can’t tell, Arie was not our favorite bachelor and we would like him to go gently into the sweet night.

For those who aren’t aware, Arie’s season was a borefest from the beginning and most people weren’t happy when he was chosen to be the next bachelor. Peter, from Rachel’s season, was a fan favorite and everyone assumed that he was the front runner to be the next bachelor. People were disappointed and surprised that suddenly Arie from a previous season from many years ago was picked. There were a lot of unhappy bachelor fans out there.

His whole season was indescribably boring. Until the Women Tell All episode. One of the rejected women, Caroline, shocked everyone by confronting Arie about the ending of the season. She called him out over something that he did after the season ended. She cryptically said, “I know what you did and I don’t know how you could do that. And I just really don’t understand. But I really hope you found what you’re looking for.” There was no other explanation but fans found out a week later that Arie pulled one of the worst moves in Bachelor history.

Stale Olive Garden breadstick of human Arie proposed to one woman, Becca, and then a month later dumped her ON CAMERA and then immediately ran to the runner up, Lauren, and asked her back out. But it later came out that he had already contacted her while engaged to Becca to find out how she felt. Becca knew he wanted to contact Lauren but she didn’t know that it opened the door to Arie getting back with Lauren.

On the After the Rose special, Arie proposed to Lauren and are now talking about eloping. Arie called off one engagement, then immediately got engage and it now talking about getting married ASAP. The callous way that man move from one relationship to another makes me doubt that Lauren has found her happily ever after.

Becca, however, isn’t sweating it because she is going to be the next Bachelorette and based on the guys she met during the after the rose special, we thinks she is going to be just fine. Our favorite so far is this fine piece of man, Lincoln, we hope to see more of him this summer.

Turns out, Herpes is the Main Reason Why Contests Don’t Make it on the Bachelor or Bachelorette

in Shows by

The Bachelor Tell All EpisodeIn  light of the most boring bachelor ever on this season’s Bachelor, some news has been released about the series that is frankly kind of shocking. Los Angeles Times staff writer Amy Kaufman’s new book, “Bachelor Nation: Inside the World of America’s Favorite Guilty Pleasure” really sheds some light on the process that contests go through into order to become a contest on the show. It has some interesting tidbits about the process but the most illuminating fact is that contests were always disqualified based on whether they had herpes or not. One would assume that maybe there would be other reasons to disqualify a candidate but turns out the real culprit is herpes.

The process starts with filling out an extremely lengthy application and sending in 15 photos of themselves from different angles. Applicants must also produce of a video of themselves in a well-lit room, wearing a nice outfit as if they were going out to a nice dinner. The video needed to include the applicant talking about their life, their family, their pets, what they look for in a man and their ultimate date.

Producers then decided if they want that applicant to move on to the next round. The next round includes flying the applicant out to Los Angeles for an in-person audition. The applications then have to fill out a 150 question survey that is filled with true or false questions and multiple choice. Some of the questions sound pretty nuts. According to an article on the NY Post some of the questions asked were, “Do you have out-of-body experiences? Do you think you can control things with your mind? Have you ever wanted to kill someone? Some of these questions would be asked several times, with different wording.”

The next step after the questionnaire was to have a one on one interview with a producer that would include candles and mood lighting. The on on one interview would last about 20 minutes and then the applicant was then ushered into a room that included 20 other producers. The applicant would then be peppered with rapid fire questions. The questions would start off fairly normal but then veer off into the absurd. Once the questioning was complete, the applicant then would be with the shows’s therapist, Dr. Catherine Selden.

Dr. Selden, according to the NY Post article, “is a state-licensed psychologist who graduated from Pepperdine University and has no disciplinary actions against her license”. She was made available to the cast members who asked for a therapist. The meeting with her would last an hour and she would mostly focus on asking questions that pertained to a person’s mental health. Questions about their history of mental illness, drinking and cheating were asked of all applicants.

Next a private investigator would look into each of the applicants backgrounds for and scandals that could be used for potential story lines or to help the show get ahead of any potential gossip. The private investigator would look for sex scandals, arrests and any other negative information that could used against the contestant in one way or another.

The final step to the whole process is the medical examination. Applicants would be required to give blood and urine samples. these samples were tested for drugs and STD’s. They would fill out a form about their medical history and if they had to take pills they were required to tell the medical professional conducting the test.

And it turns out that if the person had an STD, they were taken out of the running for the show. The article says that, “As soon as the medical tests came back, you’d see that herpes was the biggest thing,”said Ben Hatta, [creator and executive producer] Mike Fleiss’s old assistant. “And sometimes you’d be the first person to tell a contestant that they had herpes. You’d be like, ‘Uh, you should call your doctor.’ Why? ‘We’re not going to be able to have you on our show, but you should call your doctor.”

There is some questions however over how strict this vetting process is because there are some crazy people that appear on the show. Fleiss states that the process is so strict in order to weed out people that would be potentially hazardous to others or themselves. Fleiss said “We’re really careful about who we let on the show. We lose a lot of great potential characters because we’re so tough and stringent . . . Anyone who has any sort of borderline personality disorder or instability or any sort of past involving contemplation of suicide — we just can’t take the risk. We just don’t.”

But some other past producers have stated that is not always the case. Sometimes the producers would see someone that they knew would be great for TV and gave them a pass because they knew that person would create made for TV drama.

The agreements that the contestants sign are iron clad. Each contests signs away their rights to privacy both on and off the house for at least 3 years after their season has aired. They agree to be filmed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by not only cameras they can see but also hidden cameras. The most interesting part of the contract was that the show retains the right to “intentionally or unintentionally make misrepresentations or omissions concerning the Series”. Meaning the show can do whatever they want with the footage of the contests.

After all that, people still decide to go on the show regardless of signing their life away. Too bad they didn’t include some crazies on this season because Arie is a snooze fest. Let’s hope that Caroline’s revelation on the Women Tell All episode actually amounts to something good because we are dying of boredom.

Aziz Ansari is the Latest to be Accused, but is it the Same?

in People by

aziz_ansari_accused of sexual assault Over the weekend, there was a report published by Babe about an incident involving a woman and the famous comedian, Anziz Ansari. There were allegations that after a date with the actor she felt uncomfortable with certain events that transpired on the date. She claims that she used verbal and non verbal clues to let him know that she was not comfortable in the direction things were moving but that he ignored her. She claims that what happened was sexual assault but her story however feels a little suspicious.

Normally, here at CelebVoice, we want to give the victim’s a voice. We want to spread the stories of the powerful men who hurt and take advantage of woman in vulnerable positions.  This story about Ansari does seems seem to be the same.

The woman, given the pseudonym Grace to protect her identity, said that she met Anasir at the 2017 Emmy Awards After party. They bonded over the photography and later he asked for her number. She was excited that she was meeting a celebrity and that he was texting her. He asked her to hang out and she was over the moon. She carefully picked out an outfit and spend time texting friends asking their advice.

The date started off by her going to his apartment in TriBeCa and drinking wine before the date. She gives details about the dinner conversation but she felt like he was eager to leave. He got the check and then they headed back to his apartment. When they got back, this is where the story seems to be less like sexual assault and more like a terrible one night stand.

She says that he moved too fast when they got into the apartment. According to the article in Babehe started kissing and groping her immediately. She said, “When Ansari told her he was going to grab a condom within minutes of their first kiss, Grace voiced her hesitation explicitly. “I said something like, ‘Whoa, let’s relax for a sec, let’s chill.’” She says he then resumed kissing her, briefly performed oral sex on her, and asked her to do the same thing to him. She did, but not for long. “It was really quick. Everything was pretty much touched and done within ten minutes of hooking up, except for actual sex.”

She then talks about how she keeps telling him to slow down and give him clues that she wasn’t interested but she stayed at the apartment. There reached a point where she felt so uncomfortable that she went to the bathroom to collect herself and when she reemerged, he asked if she was ok. She said, “I said I don’t want to feel forced because then I’ll hate you, and I’d rather not hate you.”

This prompted Ansari to say, “Oh, of course, it’s only fun if we’re both having fun.” Which Grace found to be sweet. He then recognized that things needed to slow down. Things did indeed slow down but then according to her, he tried to have sex again. Ultimately, after many attempts, Grace then decided she had had enough and told him she was leaving. He then called her a cab and let her go. It was after the date that she started texting with friends and she decided that it was sexual assault.

Aziz Anasir accused of sexual assault

The next day she texted him and told him that their encore made her feel uncomfortable and then he apologized. He gave her a heart felt apology and she still decided to go public with her story. The article is scathing and paints Ansari as a sexual predator on the same level as Harvey Weinstein.

This seems to a misjudgment on part of both Grace and the author of the Babe article. I believe that it muddies the waters and takes away from those women who have suffered from terrible violations. It makes women who have come forward seem like their are just trying to get revenge. This strikes me more of a really bad hook up. I think that Ansari was not able to read these cues that Grace says were so obvious, it sounds like those cues were not as obvious as she makes it sound. He apologized in such  heart felt way that it is hard to believe that he is a sexual predator. Does he suck at reading signs, most likely but to paint him with the same brush that has been used to paint men like Kevin Spacey is irresponsible. We need to focus on the sexual predators who are hurting and actually violating women.

Ansari has since released his own statement. In his statement he said:

“In September of last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual.

The next day, I got a text from her saying that although ‘it may have seemed okay,’ upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable. It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.

I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue.”

James Franco Becomes the Next Man in Hollywood to be Accused of Sexual Harassment

in Scandals by

Well James Franco has become the latest man to be accused of sexual harassment and there are now 5 women total that have come forward with allegations about Franco’s lewd behavior. Each of the female accusers attended Franco’s acting school, Studio 4. The women’s stories have been collaborated by multiple sources but Franco denies the women’s allegations.

The first allegations came out on Twitter after Franco won Best Actor for his portrayal of Tommy Wiseau in the The Disaster Artist. As the actor came up to accept his speech, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that Franco was wearing a Time’s Up pin in solidarity of the movement to help end sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood. For some women, this caused some anger. Sarah Tither-Kaplan was one of those women.

Tither-Kaplan was a student of Franco’s at the acting school and is one of the 5 women who are accusing Franco of sexual harassment. She took to her Twitter account and blasted out tweets that expressed her disgust with Franco.

Tither-Kaplan then did an interview with The LA Times where she elaborated her claims. She told the publication that, “I feel there was an abuse of power, and there was a culture of exploiting non-celebrity women, and a culture of women being replaceable.” She said that there was a particular incident that really upset her among other women at the acting school. She recounted a time where she was filming an on-screenorgy scene with both Franco and other women. She said that he removed protective plastic guards covering other actresses’ vaginas while simulating oral sex on them. The experience scarred Tither-Kaplan.

A second woman, Violet Paley, also used her Twitter account to express her disgust with Franco wearing the Time’s Up pin. She tweeted, “Cute pin James Franco. Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17? After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?”

Paley said told The LA Times that she and Franco has a consensual relationship but that there was a particular incident that happened that made her very uncomfortable. She said, “I was talking to him, all of a sudden his penis was out. I got really nervous, and I said, ‘Can we do this later?’ He was kind of nudging my head down, and I just didn’t want him to hate me, so I did it.” She then got out of the situation by telling Franco that she saw someone watching from another car.

Franco’s attorney, Michael Plonsker, has disputed the women’s claims. Franco appeared on the Late Night with Seth Meyers and when asked about the tweets he said, “The [tweets] I read were not accurate. But one of the things I’ve learned is that this is a conversation that obviously needs to be had. There are people, women and others, who have not been a part of this conversation. And I truly believe they need to be part of this conversation. So that’s why I was wearing the pin and I support that.”
