Hilaria Baldwin hints at dark forces at work less than a year after the fatal Rust shooting

in Celebrities/People by

Hilaria Baldwin has written an emotional letter on Instagram to her husband Alec Baldwin after claiming his enemies were seeking to destroy him.

In the heart-felt letter to her husband accompanied by black and white images of the couple in bed, she gushes, “

“To enter your world and become your person has been both a joy and an eye opening experience. How many wonderful moments, meeting incredible people doing amazing experiences and building a family. I am forever grateful. Every day”

This all seems like standard Hollywood fare. After all the celebrity yoga teacher could have told her husband all this at any time, maybe during one of these intimate moments that are pictured on the post?  However, the purpose of going public with her love for her husband seems to be for a darker reason.

Later on in the letter, she hints at dark forces who are out to ruin her husband’s reputation by engaging in tactics to dehumanize her, which she describes as “another old tactic to go after the spouse of your enemy”. She describes this as “psychological torture

The darker part is seeing behind the curtain at how some of this ‘business’ can function and the blows and sacrifices that someone in the public eye takes for speaking up for what they believe and for helping others.

“Enemies of these missions seek to destroy you, in order to delegitimize your voice and purpose.”

The Baldwins do engage in charity work through the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation, yet this seems unlikely to have attracted hate from “darker forces” as Hilary claims.

However, The Baldwins are no strangers to controversy.

The Instagram post comes in the wake of the fatal shooting last year when Baldwin accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his film Rust.

This incident still remains a mystery. Alec Baldwin was rehearsing a scene on 21st October, pulled out his gun and shot, fatally wounding Halyna Hutchins. Nobody knows how the live bullet got into the gun and even a year later, investigating authorities are still baffled. However, according to Santa Fe County Sheriff Alan Mendoza, Baldwin is still not “off the hook,” for the deadly incident.

In the meantime, Hilaria Baldwin has her own concerns.  No stranger to controversy herself, she was “outed” after claiming to be of Spanish heritage when it actually transpired she was born and raised in Boston and that Spanish was not her native tongue as she claimed.

Hilaria Baldwin ended her Instagram post with further affirmations of her love and support

I don’t know the ending to any of our stories, but I do know that while we are living, I want you to be told time over time how much we see you and appreciate you. And we know that you are carrying quite a load, using the privileged place of your public voice for good.

Not everyone with your privilege chooses this path. And we know it’s hard. So many love you, AB, we are here for you to lean on and feel safe,”

The couple is expecting their seventh child, a girl, this fall, referring to the unborn child as “a bright spot in their lives.” Of course, we wish the couple well with their growing family but Hilaria Baldwin’s public letter to her husband and her assumed victimhood,  never once acknowledges the true victim here; Halyna Hutchins who was killed in tragic circumstances while doing her job.

Teen Mom Star Amber Portwood Vows to “Never Stop Fighting” for her Children After Losing Custody of her Four-Year-Old Son

in Celebrities/People by

The Teen Mom OG star has come out fighting against a court ruling that granted her ex Andrew Glennon sole legal and physical custody of their child James. In a statement provided to US Weekly, Portwood, 32, said, “I’ve worked so hard to better myself and improve my relationships with my children. I’ve always been candid about my past substance abuse and struggles with mental illness, a person should have the chance to redeem themselves and not be tethered to their problems from the past.”

Not only did the judge grant Andrew sole legal and physical custody but he also granted Glennon’s request to move James from Indiana to Glennon’s family home in California. Portwood currently resides in Indiana. The judge, however, did order Glennon to ask and consider the mother’s opinion before making any major decisions regarding medical treatment, education or religion.

The judge also ordered both parents to undergo monthly drug screening for the next six months and Portwood must attend individual counseling with a therapist of her choosing and must follow the suggestions made by that therapist. Despite the strict ruling, Portwood was allowed overnight visits with James. Portwood lost overnight visits in 2019.

The custody battle started in 2019 after Portwood was arrested for domestic battery in July of 2019. She allegedly chased Glennon around with a machete and threatened suicide. Portwood pled guilty to two felony charges of domestic battery and intimidation. She was sentenced to 906 days of probation and 26 weeks of parenting classes.

Portwood and Glennon started dating in 2017. The two met on the set of Marriage Bootcamp, where Portwood was participating with her ex-fiancé Matt Baier. Two weeks after filming ended, Glennon reached out to Portwood and the two were spotted kissing three months after Portwood broke up with Baier.

Portwood’s legal troubles have been widely reported. However, Glennon is also no stranger to the legal system. He has been accused of stalking by two ex-girlfriends who both served him with restraining orders. RadarOnline reported Glennon was once arrested on drug possession charges. He was in possession of heroin and MDMA and was under the influence. He also was later arrested for possession of a deadly weapon. In 2014 he was arrested for drunk driving.

During Portwood and Glennon’s custody hearing, Glennon admitted to draining the couple’s joint bank account for $38,000 and transferring it to his personal account while Portwood was in jail. Also around the same time, Glennon created a GoFundMe to cover the legal costs of the custody battle and told fans if they donated money, they could meet James.

In response to the legal loss, Portwood said she loves her children more than anything and will never stop fighting for them.

Tristan Thompson Rumored to be Dating Again after Surrogacy Announcement

in Celebrities/People by

To the absolute surprise of no one, Tristan Thompson is rumored to be dating someone new despite expecting another child with Khloe Kardashian. Last week, Thompson was spotted in Mykonos, Greece holding hands with a mystery woman. Since then, rumors have been flying over who this new girl in Thompson’s life is and we want to know why she would ever bother with a man who has earned the nickname of “Trashcan” on social media.

TMZ posted a video on July 18th that showed Thompson walking through the streets of Mykonos holding hands with an unknown woman. This video was posted days after Kardashian and Thompson announced they were expecting a second child via a surrogate. There were rumors on Reddit that the woman was actually Kayne’s ex, Chaney Jones but Jones has denied she is the mystery brunette.

The surrogacy announcement shocked Kardashian fans based on Thompson’s long history of cheating on Khloe. Kardashian’s rep said the following, “We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November. Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”

The timeline of the birth announcement along with a potential due date seemed to indicate that Kardashian and Thompson decided to have another baby before their most recent split. Sources close to both Kardashian and Thompson have stated the couple is currently not together and aren’t planning on getting back together despite the imminent arrival of their baby boy.

Fans also notice Kardashian liked a post from the fan account @kardashiansocial that included the caption, “To everyone that’s freaking out about this video of Tristan in Greece with another girl, Khloé and Tristan are both single.” This indicated to fans that Kardashian isn’t concerned about Thompson’s dating life.

There is some speculation that the baby boy was born sometime within the last few days. A source told TMZ that the baby was already born but other sources are claiming it should be any day now. Neither Kardashian or Thompson have commented publicly yet about the new baby, Thompson’s new woman, or the status of their relationship.

Dopesick: A Haunting Look at the Opioid Crisis in the United States

in People/Shows by
Danny Strong in Hollywood working on the Show Dopesick on Hulu

In the late 1990s, the number of opioid overdoses in the United States grew by nearly triple digits. This spike was the result of a new drug, oxycontin, being introduced into the market and pushed heavily by Purdue Pharma. The Sackler family, who founded Purdue Pharma, were extremely aggressive in their marketing of the drug and it quickly took hold and grew into the opioid epidemic.

The new Hulu mini-series Dopesick is based on a book by the same name. The book was a New York Times bestseller, written by a journalist named Beth Macy. The series centers on the beginnings of the crisis, the tactics Purdue Pharma utilized to sell the drug and the devastating impact of the drug on small-town America.

The series, written by Danny Strong and directed by Barry Levinson, features competing storylines and perspectives throughout. One perspective centers on the Sackler family and their seeming disregard for the havoc that oxycontin was wreaking. The other follows Samuel Fennix, a doctor in a rural community who buys into Purdue Pharma’s misleading marketing.

The audience follows the Sackler family’s attempts to push the drug to as many people as possible, with a particular emphasis on endorsements from doctors, as strictly a business practice. They are aware of the dangers of the overuse of oxycontin, but intentionally suppress that information for their own gain.

That is harshly contrasted with the tragic reality of addiction, as lived by many of the people receiving the drug from a doctor they trust. The stark contrast between the two perspectives shines a light on the dangers of pharmaceutical corporations left unchecked.

Michael Keaton gives a powerful performance as Samuel Fennix. Throughout the series, Fennix finds himself caught in the throes of addiction while struggling with the reality of what this drug is doing to his patients. The series looks at one such patient, played by Kaitlyn Dever, who battles her own addiction after being prescribed oxycontin following surgery. The interactions between the characters serve to highlight the heartbreaking reality of opioid addiction.

This is not the first time that Danny Strong, the writer of Dopesick, has tackled a difficult topic onscreen. Much of his career as a writer, in fact, has been dedicated to handling painful truths honestly and respectfully.

Strong started his career acting in small roles, mainly commercials and guest television spots, in the 1990s. Despite being able to support himself with the work, he found that acting did not provide the personal fulfillment he was looking for. He changed direction and began to pursue work writing for film and television.

In 2008, HBO picked up Strong’s screenplay for Recount, which chronicled the legal battle that followed the Bush v. Gore presidential election of 2000. He has also written for Game Change, another political tale, as well as Empire, and both installments of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. Strong’s work on Rebel in the Rye, a biopic about author J.D. Salinger, eventually led him to work on Dopesick.

Throughout his career writing and producing, Strong has been intentional about telling important stories, even if they are difficult. His work on this series is no exception.

As he was preparing to write Dopesick, Strong grew angrier and angrier the more he learned about the Sackler family and their hand in the opioid crisis. Despite their dishonest and dangerous marketing practices, the family had never truly faced retribution for the role they played in the creation of the epidemic. Strong hoped that telling this story would change that and serve as a warning to other places around the world facing a similar crisis.

One of the key elements of telling this story well was putting together an outstanding cast. Michael Keaton leads a phenomenal cast, including Kaitlyn Dever, Will Poulter, Rosario Dawson, and others, as they highlight the tragedy of this epidemic in small-town America. The incredible work of this cast and crew has garnered significant attention for the 2022 awards season.

The mini-series has already received a Peabody Award in the category of Entertainment, which honors enlightening stories in media, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe and GLAAD Media Award. Danny Strong received a USC Scripter Award and was nominated by the Director’s Guild of America for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Limited Series.

The cast has also received copious nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, Black Reel Awards for Television, and the Critics’ Choice Awards, among others. Michael Keaton’s performance has perhaps received the most attention. He has been nominated for seven individual awards to this point and has won four, including a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television.

The team behind Dopesick has created an honest, gripping story of the tragedy of the U.S. opioid crisis and their dedication and work will continue to be recognized throughout the 2022 award season.

Netflix Docuseries, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness,” Brings Renewed Interest in the Mysterious Disappearance of Don Lewis

in Scandals by

carole Baskin's ex husband's case reopned

As the popularity of the Tiger King continues to grow so does the interest in the unsolved case of the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s ex-husband, Don Lewis. Lewis was last seen in August of 1997 and his family has believed for years that Carole Baskin had something to do with it.

Don Lewis’ family were not alone in this thinking. The documentary, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” released on Netflix briefly covered the disappearance of Carole’s second husband, Don Lewis. Don’s ex-wife and his children firmly believe that Carole killed Don to get access to his money. Don was a multi-millionaire but was notoriously stingy with his money. After his disappearance, his van was found at an airport. It was abandoned and there was a theory that Carole put forward that he has run off to his property in Costa Rica.

She had him declared dead and ultimately inherited almost all of his wealth. According to his ex-wife and children, they were left with next to nothing thanks to Carole. They believe she cut up his body and used an onsite meat grinder to dispose of his body. The mystery surrounding his disappearance still prevails. There have been no new leads over the last few decades.

However, the popularity of this docuseries has brought about a renewed interest in Don’s disappearance. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has reopened the case of Carole Baskin’s missing husband.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister tells TIME,“I would be foolish if I didn’t take advantage of [the show’s] popularity and put the message out that if you think you know something, you should contact the sheriff’s office. This is very important to us.”

Chronister says that he is hoping that anyone who was involved with Big Cat Rescue, then named Wildlife on Easy Street, at the time of Lewis’ disappearance might be able to offer new information or potential evidence into what might have happened to Lewis.
